Our engineer's daughter worked here part-time for a couple of weeks over the summer. I was just handed a good luck/going away card to sign since it's her last day here.
My kids have worked here part-time. Other peeps kids have worked here part time. They never got a card. 
I've worked here for 10 years and I never got a 'thanks for doing your job card'.

My work place is big on nepotism. It's a rare employee who hasn't had another family member get some kind of part-time work.
