GOOD! The Navy won't take me back either! |
I agree with you. Who needs the aggravation?! Please pass whatever candy you settled on. |
Passing an amalgam of Whoppers, Candy Corn, and gummy rasberrries. |
Thanks, babe. Toss us some-a that snickers, too, please... |
here you go...and I just have to say that if I can use the word amalgam in a sentence in the proper context, why the hell do I need to go to college anyway? Except maybe typing. |
those candies are going to almagamate into your beehinds. |
So you don't like big butts? |
well i'll go for the itty bitty waist, but excess buttox has never particularly floated my boat

Don't let fear hold you back. You may have other, perfectly valid reasons, but when you're 80 years old, sitting in your rocker on the porch, you'll be annoyed with yourself if you let fear make decisions for you.
Yes you can. If you can use amalgam in a sentence, you can do it.

No matter when, there's no time like the present. Although I would bet that as your kidlet gets older and more independent, school for you will be easier.

The good thing about college is that there's a lot less of this than in all your other years of school. If you choose to go to college for something that really interests you, there will be precious few questions you won't want to learn the answers to.

I'm taking a different approach...GET YOUR TAIL IN SCHOOL. I just didn't want to repeat the same thing everyone else said.
If it means more income potential for you - go.
If you aren't going because you're afraid - join the club, and trust me, you can do it. I was a horrible HS student, went to college because my parents made me, managed to graduate with grades just high enough my father wouldn't kill me, and many, many years later, I'm a masters student with a perfect avg and planning on that stupid Ph.D. If I can do it, you can.

Babe, there would be no problem getting you into classes in this area. Just think about what you want to take. Plus, I would like to send you to Tom's school too. That way we can teach wenchlet wilderness survival together!

This is what I envision the University of Alia looking like:
Wilderness survival and Tracking
Basket Weaving
Forensic Anthropology
Paranormal Phenomena and the Occult
Silversmithing
World Cultures and Religions
Culinary Arts

I'd say that you don't need "official" college then. Many universities offer some of those courses as continuing education, eventhough some of the students are there for credits. Yeah, listen to Ranger, he'll get you set up!

Just take what you're interested in! Heck, if you really want the degree, check into a liberal arts degree, or women's studies.

Courage is not the absence of fear,
It is doing what needs to be done in spite of your fear.

Take what classes interest you. A lot of universities offer on-line options, which I can see being a big bonus for some classes but not others. If you're going back to school to learn "for you" and it's not something you're trying to slug out because it's a requirement I think it could be a lot of fun.
And, remember, there are no stupid questions, only inquisitive idiots. (JK, JK).

I think you should just take courses that are of interest to you then, rather than seek a degree. A degree is going to have a whole mix of courses and some of them may not hold your interest.
I will say though that St. Mary's does have some excellent courses that are required electives (linking, interdisciplinary, perspectives, etc.) and if you were willing and able to make it to the campus (in Indiana) 1 or 2x a year, you could totally do the distance (not online) thing and have a degree worth something. More info: Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College
Good luck in whatever you decide to do. I really get a lot out of my courses, even the ones I don't particularly find useful in the real world. Learning something new gives me such a good feeling.
