Posted: 02/05/03 - 17:40 Post subject: That's gonna put a cramp in my training.
I just found out today why I've been so exhausted the last few days. It turns out, I have developed mono. I've got another 3-7 days of the illness and a few weeks of the fatigue left to endure. Overall, the doctor said my body was handling it very well.
In the mean time, I've not run since Sunday and I don't plan on running until next week (sorry EOR Team). Starting next week, I plan on running only 2 or 3 days a week until I am certain I'm recovering. I'm cutting back on my commitments (such as the 9pm-midnight meetings) and I'm now taking vitamins as well. Hopefully I'll bounce back very quickly.
I'll keep up updated.

Is it true what I heard that you never really fully recover from mono once you've gotten it?
Michael had it when he was a teenager. He said that when he first got it, standing in the shower, the water coming down on his skin hurt! Then he went to bed and slept for 25 hours!

I've never had the dreaded Mono, however a close friend of mine did in college. Do yourself a favor and completely rest yourself before returning to any athletic activity. My friend kept refusing to rest himself for very long and he kept relapsing, never fully recovering. He'd rest a day or two, feel better, go out and do a normal day of full activities and then end up bedridden and exhausted again for the next 3 days.

Sorry to hear that Koby...never got the mono (aka the kissing disease) but I'm sure it's 'unfun'.
Take care of yourself and you'll be hitting the road in no time!

Talked with the doctors today. Turns out that I have a sinus infection. They went ahead and did another Mono test that came back positive as well. So I now have Mono and a sinus infection.
They gave me drugs to help with the sinus infection. I told them that as long as I can breath through my nose and swallow without pain in my throat, I will be happy (except for the next part).
They told me no running, biking, situps, lifting, etc. for at least another week. That will mean 3 weeks of no running. Oh well. I just keep telling myself, "What doesn't sideline me for good, will only make me stronger."
Thought I would keep you guys updated. Thanks for the support.

Oh my! Please rest. Even if you feel good, don't overdo it and relapse. Too many people care about you! Get better and get stronger!
Positive vibes~~~~~~~(are they working?)
