Posted: 11/27/02 - 11:04 Post subject: Thanksgiving day plans
Hello slaves to the grind! After busting my rear at work for the last few weeks I am taking some much needed R&R. Of course the honey do list makes me kinda wish I was still at work. We have both the families coming over tomorrow for our Thanksgiving celebration. It is the one holiday of the year that we don't have to drive all over visiting family. We are lucky enough that both families get a long great and it is a good time although requires a lot of prep on our part.
What are you doing for Thanksgiving???

Lunch with my dad, aunt, brother and his girlfriend, Tracy and Mikey at a very good restaurant. Dinner at Tracy's aunt's with all of her relatives. It is virtually impossible to pace myself, but I am bound and determined this year!

After turkey trot go to in-laws and pig out.
Take older kids back to their mother's house at 6:00
Go to my mother's house pig out some more - leave
youngest daughter at my mother's house and then go home
and nap.

rtpd - Screw that parks department. Who is in charge there? You or them?
My plans - Drive to TN later today. Run in a 5K tomorrow morning (it's a guaranteed PR). Cook. Eat turkey. Walk off the extra turkey.

Get up about 7, go pick up my running partner and go to get our Turkey Trot on.
Go home. Start a fire in the fireplace. Have Thanksgiving dinner about 1 at my house with: my mom, dad, wife, my two boys, sister, neice, sis-in-law, family friend and her two kids and my running partner. That equals 8 adults, four kids and one infant.
Watch football. Eat some more pie. Eat some more turkey. Put more wood on the fire. Repeat as necessary.
Go to sleep.

Snotty Main Line *$^*#%$&^#%!!!! y'all can come up to Chester County and play football in MY park then!
Get up, get my run on, hopefully can drag roomie with me since his knees are doing better, cook turkey, etc (my 'rents, his mom and a few assorted orphaned friends are coming at 2) collapse, maybe go rollerblading again later like we did last year---would be cool to reenact the drunken-careening-out-of-control-into-a-tree stunt that we did last year....hehehe
Fla, would that count twice since going for a longer run is the activity for the day but then we can still exercise on top of that for the daily 10 pts, yes??
Hope all this slush goes away by then, hard to blade in slush.

Lets see-
I will get up around 5am-get ready for the 8k Turkey Trot.
Then i will go to my obese in-laws and listen to them tell me how skinny i am and how running is for crazy people-all while they are smoking 3 packs of ciggs and downing who knows how many calories-lets see what am i thankful for-Jan 1st-when all the holidays are over.
Sorry didn't mean to get carried away.
Hope your Thanksgiving is better and good luck to everyone who is running in a race tomorrow-or putting up with crazed family members.
Vanessa

That's bogus! That's like a really snooty Columbus suburb where you get a ticket for rollerblading (no I am NOT making this up; I know soimeone who got one!). How is healthy recreational activity bad?
