We had one of those relatives that DID NOTHING to contribute to the meal/day. My bad, she DID bring containers for leftovers and filled them up as many other were cleaning up! I immediate thought to myself that I had to come home and report her to RR. (pretty sad <sigh>)
I loved playing with the 1.5 year old little boy. I forgot how absolutely adorable little ones are. Yes, felt the little pang inside of me. More a feeling of loss that I won't have a 1.5 yo anymore than of wanting another.
My sis makes a so yummy veggie cassarole. MMMmmmm. I already ate the leftovers I brought home. (it was a teeny portion)
My cheesecake was a hit despite the fact that I thought it could be better.
Daughter #1 said she couldn't count all her blessings. Wise child she is.
Fireplaces rock. I miss having one.
Reminded that it's fun to play card games. Pinochle, Skip Bo and Phase 10 were the favorites today.
My nephew called my sister (in WY) from Afghanistan yesterday. His time over there has been extended, he's taken enemy fire, he's gone further north than any other troops, his mail transport crashed and they won't have another for about 5 weeks. Sad news to me. My sis was so happy to speak with him. He's missed.

Our Day was pretty nice!
I got up and ran the 1/2 marathon. Chris, Jason, Kaylee, my mom and my Dad got to see me at around the halfway point. I set a PR.
Came home waited for the turkey etc to get done and then I had 2 helpings of everything. Good STuff.
Then it was time to take the kids outside to play some.
Everyone crashed early (by 7:30) except me who went to bed at 9:30 (I got my second wind I guess)
It was a great time.
Today we will wander around the local museum of Science and History.

Thanksgiving in Prison...how I miss it NOT!
Turkey Trot 10k with friends in the am, football in the afternoon, Art worked (at the prison with much less drama than Icedogs) so when we came home we went over to another CO's house for dinner and Cowboys.

I ate til I couldn't eat anymore, then I went back for seconds.
I wanted to run in the morning, but there are no good places to run in Opelousas (my hometown).
I didn't get anything accomplished, and I really needed to get some work done.

very nice, relaxing day. Went for a nice (albeit painful at times) 9 mile trail run. My wife made an absolutely amazing turkey dinner. My garlic mashed potato's came out pretty good.
Relaxed, watched the cowboys get SPANKED, iced my very painful knee with this

My wife and I ran our local T-Trot (see report) in the morning while the son slept in. On returning, she went to work in the kitchen (she had only made the pies the night before - nothing else was prepared). Watched the Packers show up for, but not play against, the Lions.
The bird took a little longer as there was no pop-up. But it was all worth it. Everything was terrific. And finally, finally, FINALLY - a night where I could sleep in late the next morning.
Out to Iowa to have our son pick up his new car and head on out from there back to CSU-P. We're seeing LC's dad while we're there.
Back to the trenches on Monday.

ThanksGiving went pretty well. Steph and i had about 16 people at her house. My 23.08 pound bird was all but dematerialized. nothing left. NO LEFTOVERS .
Lots of drink, we had some rowdiness but it was toned down quickly. Got to love the line. "Remember, he was in the Army!! He has special trraining, yeah right. but it toned the ofender down.
Steph and i spent most of yesterday cleaning up the house, dishes, and spent some quiet time together. cold and wet here in ATL Thursday and Friday. so it was a good day for inside activity.
