What Confused: Confused:

By teaching me skills that would come in handy in everyday life.

Besides: Sex & Driving that is. Smile

For me it was:

Dishes

Grocery shopping

mom taught me to cook when I was 12. It was summer and I came in and asked "what's for lunch?" she said "whatever you fix" I guess she was tired of cooking for us!

Always look out for the "little guy". Whether it be physically like a little kid or job wise.

I always make it a point to talk to and get to know people that work in the unglamorous jobs. One guy actually thanked me for talking to him once. That almost made me cry.

I also appreciate that they showed me what true poverty was. I would have never known otherwise.

Mom always said that I was a husband and father in training.

My wife thinks she did a pretty good job (when I am not in a doghouse).

Thank you for teaching me discipline and the rewards of hard work, two traits that I find sorely lacking in a lot of people.

Thank you for teaching me to respect others regardless of their culture, social status, or otherwise.

Thank you for pushing me enough, but not overdoing it at the same time.

Thank you for letting me learn things on my own, but answering questions when I needed the answers.

Thank you for bringing me up as I hope to bring up my children.

Thank you for loving me.

A work ethic, and to manage money wisely.

To be independent, and to understand the first person you must count on is yourself.

To stand for what you believe in and never compromise your beliefs, even if unpopular.

Thanks M&D for teaching me that ...

- I am ultimately responsible for my own happiness.

- no one can take away my worth and importance other than me.

- friends may come and go, but family (sometimes unfortunately) is forever.

- the only limitations I have are those I place on myself

- a strong work ethic will take you further than anything else professionally

- my opinions matter, as do those of others

- marriage takes times and work, but it is SOOO worth it to stay together

- "and the greatest of these is love"
