And I don't mean the kind at football games. When some jackalope is riding your bumper on the way home from work, what do you do?

I don't speed up, but I don't flip a "You're Number 1!" sign either b/c you never know who has a gun and a 'tude. Sometimes I brake for half a second but that's more to let someone know they're too close. Even that seems like it could have negative consequences.

I'll tap my brakes hard enough to really scare 'em, then I'll just go the speed limit.

I try not to let it bother me any more than that. It's just not worth the effort.

it really does get on my nerves but since i have a my kids with me sometimes, i try to set a good example. what really irks me is that one of my son's friends rolled an SUV on the highway cuz some assclown was tailgating him in the fast lane -- this kid could have been killed.

it gets on my nerves and rattles me; just think what it does to a young driver. Mad i love when i pull up beside the idiots at the stop light anyway. DORKS!!!!

I never flip the bird because you don't know if it's a fellow churchmember!! Embarassed

Usually I slow down to the speed limit.

Mmm, good point about the gun and 'tude. And since you live here you know exactly the kind of moron I am talking about. Is it MY fault you're late for work, ahole? Back off......

I've done just about all of these but I usually tap my brakes and if that doesn't work I just do the EXACT speed limit and watch them start foaming at the mouth. Twisted Evil THEN I flip the bird as they're turning away so their aim is off. This was all much more fun before society became so whacked.

There's no option for "slow down to well below the speed limit"

It depends on the situation and what kind of mood I'm in.
Sometimes I'll pull over and let them pass, sometimes I just slow down.

Lightly tap on the brakes and keep on doing the speed I was doing before the idiot got behind me.

If I am on a two lane divided highway I will move over. If I am on a three lane and I'm in the middle, then you can just plain go around me buddy !

Oh BTW: Can't you see there are three cars pacing themselves in each lane ahead and you're not going to be passing them ?

i usually slow way down, even below the speed limit. however, that doesnt always work. a few months ago, i was on my way home from school and some guy was so close to me that i couldnt even see his headlights. i slightly brake checked him once or twice and he never let up. finally, he flys past me after i slowed down a bit. well i caught up to him and drove fairly close to him for a minute or two. which then provoked him to get back behind me as close as before, with his highbeams on. Evil or Very Mad so i slowed down. waaaaaay down. untill i was doing about 40 mph in the left lane of the freeway. at that point i was too afraid to change lanes, because everyone else was wizzzing past us. he did this for about 5 miles. i was on the verge of calling 911 when he finally had had enough.

about the bird, i learned my lesson when the pyscho soccer mom chased me down after i flipped her off for cutting me off with her expedition/schoolbus.

Depends on the number of lanes.

If it's a two lane highway and there's heavy oncoming traffic, I'll usually speed up to whatever I feel comfortable with. Usually this isn't an option though because I travel as fast as I feel comfortable with.

If it's a road with multiple lanes, and he's just being a wank and not using the other lanes to pass, then I'll be an assclown.

It's usually not a problem for me because I drive faster than most anyway.

NEVER, NEVER, EVER flip someone the bird.

In this day and age lots of stuff can happen. Just let them go on their merry way. Its amazing how much you can hack off people if you don't react or sink to their level.
