SHOW YOUR COLORS: TAKE AN AMERICAN FLAG TO WORK DAY, THURSDAY, APRIL 6

All patriotic Americans who have been concerned about the predominance of flags of foreign nations at the recent pro-illegal alien marches and the desecration of the American flag by supporters of illegal aliens are being asked to participate in a demonstration of patriotism and American sovereignty by taking an American flag with them to work, school or anywhere this Thursday, April 6.

Whether or not you support "work permits", "paths to citizenship", or the likes, you likely support the idea of flying the American flag with reverence. So lets do it! It is NOT anti-immigration, and can be a lesson to the recent demonstrators.

How it works is simple: Proudly carry an American flag with you wherever you are in public. Small parade style flags on sticks would work best for those who commute by bus or subway and those who walk to work. Carry it around with you when you go out for lunch and when you leave work.

Wear red, white and blue patriotic attire. Fly the American flag at your home. Fly an American flag from your car antenna. Tape an American flag in your car window. The goal is to have Old Glory be given the prominence it deserves and to remind everyone--politicians, illegal aliens and their enablers--that the American flag comes first in this country.

Please pass this message along to everyone you know and every patriotic blogger you can think of. Contact any patriotic group you belong to. Contact your local media and talk radio shows. Stand up for America and Old Glory this Thursday.

Our Troops are standing by the flag every day while in harms way.

It doesn't bother me if someone flies an American flag on April 6 (or any other day for that matter). I won't because it gives people the impression you support the War in Iraq, God and the Republicans as well as Bush. I support the troops by writing to my Georgia Senator (Saxby Chambliss) to help bring the troops home. Unfortunately he is more of the opinion of wtr100, but this is Georgia.

Now where's my Confederate flag?! Twisted Evil

So, you're saying that flying a flag must by definition mean "I support war?" Twisted.

No. I did not support the use of American troops in Bosnia any more than I do in Iraq. American troops, when used for military purposes, should be used only for the defense of the United States.

When I see someone flying an American flag I automatically assume they are conservative, Republican, God fearing and very intolerant of differing opinions. NTTAWWT. Just not my way of showing patriotism. I prefer helping at Hosea Williams Thanksgiving Day feed the hungry campaign and/or helping clean up neighborhoods during "Hands on Atlanta" days. That's my idea of showing my patriotism and pride for being an American.

I should have qualified that I was directing that question at Sonny. Sorry.

We fly the flag. My husband is military. We hate war. We don't have a party affiliation. But we do fear God.

We fly the flag everday at my house, for no other reason than I am proud to be an American. I love this country and what it has to offer, and for what we stand for. We (the country) may not perfect, but its a great place to live

I actually don't think twice when I see someone flying an American flag. In my neighborhood I tend to see more Irish or Italian flags than American. To your other point though, I do the same thing. I show my commitment to my country by going out and lending a hand to my neighbors on a regular basis. For me, this is much more meaningful and I feel as though I am doing my part to try and make this country a better place for all.

Excellent. I make no judgements of people who fly the flag other than I'm assuming they are proud to be an American.
