There's your fine example of intolerance.

As I post here from the great state of Minnesota, home to Hubert Humphrey, Walter Mondale, Paul Wellstone and Al Franken, it is perhaps, Massachussets and San Fransico aside, teh most liberal pocket of humanity around. And YOU'RE TELLING ME that every flag flown in this great state gives you the ASSUMPTIONS about conservatives, etc.??

Here in Minnesota, there is NO lack of flags being flown. And they're being flown BY LIBERALS!!

So really, GRR, you know the saying about "assuming"... doncha?? Neutral

Maybe you're reading more into it than is actually there. All he said was that he makes certain assumptions about the flagfliers, not that he makes value judgments about who they are or that he's intolerant of them.

Where he lives and where you live are entirely different so why assume (there's that word again) you know what's what for him?

Excellent. I make no judgements of people who fly the flag other than I'm assuming they are proud to be an American.

Just like I don't make judgments on those who don't.

I would prefer that people don't judge me, so I try to live by that as well.

That goes for all aspects of my life, not just this topic.

Amen sistah! I hate it when people box me into a little box because I do one thing or don't do another. The world isn't black or white--there are a thousand shades of gray. Best not to strive for our neighbor's approval, imho.

Huh?

GRR says when he sees someone flying an American Flag, that they are "very intolerant of differing opinions." Maybe jrjo is reading him accurately, based on his actual words.

And this is the intolerance I talk about. You or anyone else can fly the flag. It doesn't have the same meaning to all Americans. We don't see the need to wear it on our sleeve. On the other hand if you wish to fly it more power to you. But then when asking us why we choose not to fly it, don't criticize us when we tell you why.

Oh yes, I'm obviously the more intolerant one for expressing an opinion that doesn't sit well with your Neal Boortz and Sean Hannity shows.

But you know, we have become used to the name calling, having our mental faculties questioned and disguising of intolerance by wrapping ones self within the American Flag. Long may it wave over your house.

It doesn't bother me one way or the other.

Us?? We?? Are you talking about "we" and "us" as being Liberals? If so, did you read my reply? Here in Minnesota, it IS the land of liberals and flags fly EVERYWHERE! You're not seeming to accept the fact that liberals are NOT choosing to not fly the flag. Maybe it's true in your neighborhood, but it certainly isn't true across the fruited plain.

So go ahead and drop in here for your quarterly bomb lob and somehow construe "intolerance" because a handful of internet conservatives dare speak their minds. It seems to me the example of intolerance squarely is resting on your notions about conservatives. Confused
