The Ultima did it, no?
A couple more time shavings like that off your Pr and you'll be Beantown bound |
Ah, Beantown. The Olympics of the midpacker...
No Ultima this year, they had powerade, but I stuck to water and power gels. Another adjustment I made was to gel every 4 miles instead of every 6. Seemed to work well for me.

Great report and a great PR.
Would you recommend Richmond as a marathon to be run?

Absolutely. It was a nice course with a few rolling hills but nothing too serious. Other than the pro-life protestors with their overly graphic signs (I really wish they could keep politics out of my sports), it was a great race. Parking ($5 for the entire day, two blocks from the start), baggage check (UPS 150 feet from start and 150 feet from finish) and post race party (good food and great coffee) were all top notch. They also had pacing teams which I thought was fantastic.
I am torn because I kinda want to do the Philly next year, but I really loved this race. Doing NYC, Richmond and Philly in the span of 3 weeks might be a bit much, even for me

If you do it, I will try to get there, even if I don't run it.

to Monk!
PR's rock my face off! What a great report! I kept waiting for those faster miles to come back and bite you in the tail, but they never did, you really held on well.
You should be, like, super duper proud of yourself!

Great Job Monk! That is the time I am shooting for in December. I hope I can run as consistently as you did.
Now you can give your body some time to recover.
You earned it!
