... on my shoulders makes me happy
Sunshine in my eyes can make me cry
Sunshine on the water looks so lovely
Sunshine almost always makes me high

If i had a tale that i could tell you
I'd tell a tale sure to make you smile
If i had a wish that i could wish for you
I'd make a wish for sunshine all the while

Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy
Sunshine in my eyes can make me cry
Sunshine on the water looks so lovely
Sunshine almost always makes me high

THANK YOU AND GOOD NIGHT!

Silly Rabbit, I know this one is dead--I was writing that Elkid post one of these songs and artist thread every few days, and I always pause to think of their breathing status Confused

You know what was really cool? When Denver teamed up with Dee Snider and Frank Zappa and spoke out against music censorship, and said the now ubiquitous explicity warning stickers were stupid. What a trio they were in Congress!

From the reports, the aircraft was experimental and slightly heavier than an ultralight. And the crash occurred in Monterey Bay, not the Pacific. But that's not important.

How is it that you have the intelligence and ability to fly an aircraft but forget to refuel it before your next flight? The crash happened off Lover's Point in Monterey Bay. When you consider the distance from Monterey's airport to the crash site, there couldn't have been much more than a few ounces of fuel in the tank when he took off. An eyewitness said that the aircraft went straight down, nose first.

Yeah, I'll just fill 'er up after I take a turn around the bay....

Didn't John Denver suffer from depression? I think I recall that, and some talk that he intentionally downed his plane.

I believe that his "admiration of the kindbud" was well-known. And although his body, when recovered, was fubar, the tests were negative for any, uh, substances.

Imagine...you're outside at the Monterey Bay Aquarium and you notice that small aircraft heading for the water at a steep angle..."Look at that aerial acrobat. Let's see how close he comes to the water before he pulls out of the dive." Shocked
