Rest day today, back from being out of town.
Thursday: 3 miles on tread
Friday: 2 miles outside. Knee starting hurting and hip starting hurting. Quit run and went to the local Fleet Feet Store (I was in Louisville KY). We did the gait analysis on a tread. Kid helping me asked why I was wearing a stability shoe since I really wasn't pronating. So now I am wearing a pair of Saucony Trigon Riders. Went back to the hotel and ran a mile on a treadmill in the new shoes. Knee didn't seem to hurt, but since the hip was already hurting, I couldn't tell if the shoes made a difference.
So rest day today, and see how these new shoes work for me tomorrow.
It sucks being injured.

I probably have the same weather as rob, but I'm going to put it a different way. Ready?
16 degrees, with negative windchills. It is flipping COLD. 3.1 miles, 34:51.

First half not bad, second half so-so. Winds from west bothered me on the latter - if I didn't have the headphones on, I'd've gotten a nice earache.
14.179 miles in 2:18:32.00. The pace, 9:46.22, stinks, but it is still better than the LSD pace target of 10:30.00 for my training. The warm weather will make a heck of a lot of difference for all the obvious reasons (and some purely mental). I just have to continue to tough it out 'til then - that will count for something good, too.
