15 miles at around 7:30 pace....felt like 7:15 pace though and wanted to quit at 12 ......not the feeling I want in taper mode. My hammies started to hurt at my usual 45 minutes.....but it appears that I can work through it as I'll be dealing with a higher pain threshold next weekend. Hubby will run with me the first 9 miles next weekend (I'm drafting off of him big time).
Hoping for cooler temps and NO RAIN next weekend

Last double digit run for me before the race. I wanted to do two miles warmup, two cool down, and the other 8 at about my marathon race pace-which, if I want to run a 4.15 marathon, would be about 9.30 mile pace.
10.44
10.18
9.48 1/2 way through this mile I was still below a 9.30 pace. So I talked out loud to myself "Any time you want to pick the pace up Kim feel free to do so". Does anyone else talk to themselves?
9.38
10.22 stopped for a gel and a drink of water
9.13
9.39
9.02
10.52 ! stopped for a gel and water, then I did have trouble cranking it back up again.
9.30
10.12 I was going to slow down more here, but I checked my watch and wanted to finish the 12 miles under 2 hours.
9.48
1.59.17. I wore all the clothes I am planning on wearing for the marathon, and took gels even though I didn't think I needed one at mile 8, I just want to keep my stomach familiar with the products.

Sure, I talk to myself out there all the time.

For the first time since I started running in late August, I managed to find out the distance of my run.
I ran 7 km in 45 minutes.

45 minutes of upper body weight training followed by my first outdoor run (24 minutes) in several months. Felt like a sluggish moose, but it was good to get back out there and pound some pavement on a glorious early Fall afternoon.

Nada. My usual 4 hr. workout on Sunday turned into 6 hrs. of house cleaning. I think you clean freaks are starting to get to me.

First time swimming in a while, but got in about 30 laps or so, I'll have to call the gym tomorrow to find out how far that is. Tomorrow morning I'm going again with my dad!

26.2 miles.
No I'm not the one that raced. I just had to do the full distance to build my confidence.
I did 6 before I got water.
I did 6 before I got water.
I did 7 before I got water.
I did 7 before I stopped.
First 12 miles were in about 123 minutes (Give or take 3 minutes). Then I joined my friends that ran a much slower pace. Final time was 3:45. Not bad for a training run and no taper.
Columbus Marathon, HERE I COME! Less then 4 weeks away now!
