I had to get a ride home. I'm mentally weak and just couldn't do it. My friend's face dropped to the ground when I turned and said "I can't do it, I have to stop"

Day off: Thus ending my first training week with 23 miles. I had a 5 miler scheduled, but will bag it today to let my BP meds kick in. So, I compromised on the doctor's orders.
I had a good first week. I feel strong and motivated again. I think the speed work I did all summer and less milege helped me. Now I want to hit this thing full force. I met that girl at the gym who wants to do the LSD's with me as well. She's faster than me, but serious about it. She won't "dog" me out of runs.
Week 2 starts tomorrow.

Sorry to hear you had a tough one, Sue.
Supposed to do twelve miles today. However, I had to help coordinate and direct trafic for our church's first evah fun run (a one mile walk and a 5K run*). This is being prepared after that and before a party for my friend who just got diagnosed with MS. So drips and drabs of little spurts of runs - already almost 1K - and I'll get what's left for twelve tomorrow.
In essence, trading the LS run and off days.
* And from what I saw, I. Would. Have. Smoked. Them. And if you know anything, you know I don't talk up my running abilities.

I didn't run yesterday, so I'm doing 5 easy miles.
