Yeah, nice job JU!
I went to the gym. The resolutionaries were there. There's usually 1-2 folks in the gym on Sunday. There was at least 10 folks there!
35 minutes weights/abs/stretching. Finally getting into a routine. Maybe my arms will stop being all shaky when I'm done lifting!

Schedule says - day one of training for Brookings.
Schedule says - long slow run.
Schedule says - six miles (I guess - it is the first day, after all).
A very nice day to run - the first really sunny day here in over two weeks (want to say Christmas Eve was the last one). Temperature in the low 40s.
A little sore from the race, but still a good (and surprisingly fast) run. 6.348 miles, :59:36.97. A 9:23.48 pace, which is much faster than the recommended 10:30.00, but I did work to make it slow.

3 miles on the treadmill. It was 70 degrees outside. I should be ashamed of myself.

The salad bar I always get lunch from was packed this last week. In a month or so they'll be gone.
7.5 miles, 1:06:24 - good solid run.

I finally did it! I broke my running record!
1 mile today. 5:05 completion time! I would have beat the 5 mark but I had to "change gears" half of the mile into it, and that cost me a few seconds of running a "jog" of a 6 minute mile pace (when going for sub-5, even a 6-mpm pace is considered a jog, haha!)
Okay so I run 25.2 more of those at the same speed and I can take Boston by storm!

Tell me did you run that on a track?
Either way it was still a top time.

About two years ago when I started running I measured out the distance of our neighborhood. I know all of the basic routes I take so I can add up the distances at the end of a run, look at how long it took me for the run, and then do the math to see my pace. So this run was to the end of my street and back. .5 miles each way. Not an EXACT time, but pretty darn close!
I think my speed is progressing nicely though. I can run a 15k distance with a min. per mile average of what I was barely able to run a 5k in one year ago. (that's a fun story in itself. I hadn't ran in about 5 months, never did a 5k, ran in sneakers and jean shorts, placed 9th overall with a time of 19 minutes).
