I'd like to go visit my sister and her kids in Michigan. I'm trying to decide if I should drive or just fly and rent a car. With the cost of gas, I'm not sure what is the better deal.

Fly!

That's what I'm going to do when I go to LA. My ticket will be cheaper in the long run. I won't need a car and will save on gas the entire week.

8 days and 7 nights of back country canoeing and fishing in the Boundary Waters of Northern Minnesota this July.

Now that sounds great!.....are there black flies there or just buzzard sized mosquitos?

Black fly season should be over. I'm sure the mosquitos will be friendly to tourists.... Mad

Clingmans's Dome...park in the lot and walk the paved path to the observaton tower. On the way back, take a side trip...near the top, you can get onto the Appalachian Trail and hike it for a while. Nothing too strenuous on either account.

Or, if you feel like a bit more of a challenge, stop at the Chimney Tops trailhead on the way to Clingman's Dome. It's a bit tougher but can be done by pre-teens.

My vacation is not taking 18 credit hours for school! Dancing Banana I do begin my chemistry class next week along with my new job, and this week I begin working for an atty part-time as I am able. In July, when the kids are in Charlotte, JM and I are going to try to escape to a bed & breakfast for a night or two, and we're also going to see Les Mis at the Murat on 7/16, but that's really about all the R&R I will get.

A good hike...in the southern half of the Park.

Nice views of Fontana Lake.

I am constantly berated for not being spontaneous, so I have decided to take two weeks in July and ride off on the Harley to no place in particular. I may stop and visit some lucky RR’s on my odyssey.

Make sure you get to upstate NY. Come on a Wednesday and we'll hit the Stryders training/speed sessions.

For Andy and Mrs Andy: A few days inb Lake Placid, work around the house. Life is GREAT !!!

We are heading to PA in June to visit our friends at State College (man, that place is just as po-dunk as some of you told me. But, hey, we love our friends!). Off to the beach in July (VA Beach, that is). Possible trip to KY in July (still can't figure out how to get to my mom's party...). And, although not in the summer, going to Vegas in November.

LOTS OF FUN TIMES!!! Smile

Family vacation to Surfside, SC for a week in September. It will be Hayden's first time at the beach and I'm so excited. We're going with my brother's family and a friend and her family. 3 little boys, 3 baby girls and a SWEET 8 bedroom house on the beach with a private pool. It's awesome and CHEAP since we are going in September. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!

Also, I just booked 2 nights for me and my hubby at Chateau Elan Winery & Resort in Georgia in June for our 10th wedding anniversary. Now I really can't wait for that!!! 2 nights for us away from the kids to celebrate! Yipeeee!!!!!

My FIL is going out of town in June and we are staying at his house on the lake (with a pool, too!) for the first 2 weekends of June. That will be a fun free vacation!!!!

Dancing Banana Dancing Banana

I think it's going to be a great summer!
