This is a Substitute RR Thread Post here.
I'm filling in for elkid for the next few weeks.
I get to do the asking...
What have you learned this week?

I learned:
Marathons are fun!
The clock moves extremely slowly when you're waiting for Christmas break. (LIKE NOW...is it 11:30am yet?)
My 4.0 remains in tact, which amazes me. (one class left!)

I've learned:
- Jake doesn't like to sing and dance in front of strangers (stood rock still for both preschool programs.)
- Hubby will be off for 5 days next week. Nevah happens this time of year, good times expected.
- A locksmith charges $40 to unlock a Jeep (took him >30 seconds, so he makes more than $1 per second of work. DANG! I'm in the wrong racket!)
- It's ok to drop a class.
- As a 6th grader, Libby knows more about Math than I do.
- Will is an amazing painter! He painted a picture of a Bionicle... gonna frame it!!

- Our son had his girlfriend from college here this week (she went back to Colorado yesterday). I learned he has good taste in women (much like the old man, especially when it comes to a wife and to Riff Raffers).
- I will survive a nuclear war. If I could survive four years of our manager, I can survive anything.
- Stuffed shells with ricotta cheese are better the longer you go without. But not too long, please.
- Running a treadmill is more instructive than running an indoor track. Only a lot noisier.

I've learned:
-3 sick children at once can be tiring and keep you homebound for days.
-3 sick children are feeling better. They're all fighting with one another again.
-All of my winter clothes are hanging on me. I'm in the same dilema that I was in last year...my clothes don't fit again! It's a good problem yes...but expensive one to fix.
-That I'm not motivated to send out any Xmas cards this year. I probably will though.
-That my parents will give me support in times of need without asking.
-That my closest friends in life will call to see how I am and check up on me from time to time. I see that you are there as well.
-That Xmas is just days away and there's still more shopping to do. Nothing like last minute shopping. Joy!

I learned that if it wasn't for the 'prep time' and the 'clean-up portion', that painting would be pretty fun.

I learnt
- that I should change shoes as quickly as possible once they start wearing out and not wait any longer
- that my resting HR is between 46-48 bpm

I guess I have learned that I do miss having the kids come running at me as soon as I walk in the door after a long day at work!

I have learned:
-that no matter how much you try to ignore it, timing is everything.
-you will never have control over some things that are most important to you.
-it is just under 1600 miles from Baton Rouge to Boston.
-life is more like a tv show than I'd like to admit.
-the hardest present to buy is for someone that doesn't return the sentiment.
-I really need a hobby.
