OK, what is the NFL rule for how close a defender can be to the player catching a punt? Based on the Packers last two games, I am assuming that there is no requirement that you have to be at least 1 yard away from the punt receiver? I think there is a 2 yard halo rule in college.

There is a rule that you must give a player room to catch a fair catch, but there is no rule saying you can't push another defender into the guy trying to catch the ball. That's what happened in the last game, so it was a legal play. Of course, the ball did hit the kicking team's guy in the head first, which should have been reviewed, but Sherman is an idiot.

That is what I figured. The Packers had it happen to them in the Jet's game and then again less than one week later in the Falcon's game. If that is the rule, the Packer's coachs need to tell their blockers that if they can't slow down the defenders, then at least get out of the way so that they can't be thrown into their own players!!!! No harsh feelings here.

OK, since I never got my sock question answered and I think that PH is feeling bitter about wimmen today (see the "all women play games" remark)   I have another question:
Is it safe to use expired pepper spray in a pinch? How long after the date? (I don't have a target in mind, OK, I just don't want to throw it away and but new if I don't have to do so).

I got this one K. Yes it is and it will work quite nicely for at least a year. Throw it out and buy some new stuff after that.
