Hey Everyone,

I just wanted to inform y'all ahead of time to mark your calendars for the StumpJump 50K trail race. There is also an 11 mile race option. Both races will take place on October 7th beginning at 8 am. Here is the official website: http://www.rockcreek.com/events/StumpJump/sj_basic_info.asp. It's a great race! Don't miss it!

I hope to see ye ol faithful runners there!

Just wanted to let you know that we just opened registration for the 2007 race, which will be October 6, 2007.

Same great things that made last year's race sell out so fast:

-FREE Carbo supper the night before, along with a vendor fair and chances to win free stuff. Last year Salomon stepped up and offered a great meal of various pastas, veggies, and some killer desserts.

-Registrants get a synthetic shirt, a pair of wool socks, and lots of other random stuff that we can't really tell you about until we have the word from our sponsors. Trust me, this is one of the biggest swag bags you'll see for any running event.

-Oh, yeah, there's a race too. Taking place on some of the most beautiful trails in the country (certainly in Tennessee!), the StumpJump 50K course starts on Signal Mountain, descends into North Suck Creek canyon, goes back up the mountain into the Prentice Cooper WMA, around a big loop with incredible views of the Tennessee River Gorge, and then back down and up to the start. It's a tough course. There's also an 11-mile run available if you're not quite ready to commit to the full 50k.

All registration will happen online this year and the race will sell out, so come sign up today. Here's the full detail page:
