Fellow students, the clock is ticking and this semester is rapidly drawing to a close.....(THANK GOD FOR THAT!) how's everyone holding up? When are you done for the holidays? Any plans for much needed stress relief before the spring madness starts up again? What are you taking next semester?
I have exactly TWO weeks left....one more week of classes and then only one final (out of 2 classes, don't hate me, full timers!) on the 2nd. The downside to being done early, however, is that we go back on Jan 5.
I have left to do: an audio tape, a 45 minute video counseling session tape complete with transcription AND evaluation to present in lieu of a final exam in my counseling class, plus a 25 page case presentation on my client, as well as the assorted readings and studying for my ethics final. Not a terrible semester but I'm glad it is almost OVAH!!! No great plans yet for the break, I think this time I am just going to relax and get ready for the holidays a little less rushed than last year was.
Next semester it's Bereavement Counseling, a one-week intensive infrasession class the first week of school, Psychological Assessment, which I hear is UGLY, and Development Across the Lifespan, which I know involves a huge paper at the end. The good news is, I can then start my internship next summer and be done by May 2005!

Chapter three of thesis is due Dec. 1. I'm considering starting on it today, but will most likely procrasitnate until Thanksgiving. Why stress now when I can stress later?
Two more classes in my drug counseling class. The only grade in there is our final, so I'm seeing my 4.0 biting the dust, but everyone swears he's easy and they didn't even buy the text. I'm hoping they're right.
Next semester, the only class left is part two of my thesis...then graduation. I'm sure Jan. - May will creep by.

Good luck to all who are currently studying!
I've been on a break since October 3 (hence my large amounts of posts!) I could have started my 3rd semester in mid-October, but I wanted to add a course and do a by-mail registration, so with all that added paperwork, I'm starting up again after Thanskgiving. This is a good thing since it has me returning in May, not March, and I wasn't too keen on driving through the mountains in March, since it could be all snowy & such.
However, oddly enough I've been thinking about it and I think I want to finish up by February anyway and make the March return. The great thing about distance through St. Mary's is that if I finish early, I can start another semester early, as they have 5 start dates throughout the year. I'm not sure I can do all of this in 3 months with 4 classes--one of which is Math (I added it) since I suck at math. But I'm going to try.
My 4.0 is surely biting the dust... I have grades for 3 of the 4 classes (A's) but I think my Lit course will be a B+ (3.65--just a hair shy of an A-). It's an honest grade though. I really screwed around this summer, and did almost a semester's work in 2 courses in about 5 weeks. Not my best work, and I own that. I will still make the academic achievement list since they consider grades based on credit hours (12, 30, 45, 60, 75, 105 & 125), and I have now completed 15, so I will have about a 3.9 gpa. I think I can live with that.

Stupid accounting jackass won't even CONSIDER finishing early. This despite the fact that people stopped listening the first week in September.

for me 1 week left of classes and I'm finished with exams on Dec. 12 (though I have to hand in a physiology lab report on the 19th )
25/11 Technical Terms of Medicine Final (Computer-based exam) 12 pm
27/11 Cell Physiology Midterm (Final's not until April since it's a year-long course) 11am
4/12 Principles and Methodology of Biological Research 3:30 pm
6/12 Molecular Biochemistry (also a midterm-it's a yearlong course) 8:30 am
9/12 History of Early China 8:30 am
12/12 Genetics 1 3:30 pm
This term's supposed to be the easier of the 2 though I'm not doing that well. I'm still taking 6 courses in the winter session (Jan-April) and all are science courses: (cell physiology, biochem, medical microbio and immunology, ecological plant biochem, genetics 2, and biostats) Hopefully I'll get my act together and do better next term...

Classes until 12/3, one final 12/8, one final 12/11, and then a take-home exam 12/15-18. Then H-kah, X-mas, and Bahamas, in that order. I can almost taste that Goombay Smash.
And don't have to be back until 1/12.
