Posted: 10/06/05 - 17:28 Post subject: Student Loans...urgggh!
I got my notices of student loan repayments over the past couple of days. Altogether I owe the government just over $7700 for the last 2 years of school when I used loans....I was lucky for the first 2 years of college when my parents supported me... Repayment starts on my birthday (last day of November) with just over a 100 bucks a month...Which means I really have to start looking for a new job soon (I had to quit my summer job when the family business closed down for good)...I would like to get as much paid as possible before I go back to grad school.

Sorry I forgot that college education is much more expensive in US than where I live...
crazyfrog, I didn't know you can apply for loans in grad school...I thought financial support is through the supervisor, TA/RAships, and fellowships/grants...and I'm actually planning to move to the States for grad school

Lots. My sister-in-law went to school in the US and she was paying close to $15000 a semester.
That's just too many digits for me for school.

$5000 per semester for tuition and $10,000 per semester to cover the cost of surveillance to make sure she is not a national security threat.

I think $100 is great. I am fairly certain that my monthly repayment will be at least 4x that.
I do heart my student loan people though. Without them I would not be doing this.

ha ha ha ha ha ha got you all beat by a mile.
I'll be repaying my student loans after I start receiving Social Security, if there's any left by then.
When all is said and done, my loans will be in six-digit land.

One good 40% cut of a class-action settlement, you'll wipe it out and then some, no?

The gubmint will pay you a stipend which you'll use to payback a prior stipend.
