Just need to vent a little.

Way, way too much stuff going on this week. The SDHSAA just released the 2003 fb schedules, so it is a mad scramble to try and find referees. All the guys I usually use are booked already.

Girls Basketball starts next week. I'm ready for practice, but it's all the "extra" things, parents meetings, shooting shirts, team t-shirts, all that crap is wearing me down.

Our school also is running 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade programs. Those seasons start next week as well, and I am going nuts, with people asking me about schedule and practice time, and things like that.

On top of all that extra-curricular stuff, I am still being pushed to align my entire curriculum with the state content standards. Not that it isn't now, but they want me to outline the year, based on the standards. It's weird. Keep in mind that I teach 5 PE classes (K-4) and 3 Social Science classes, and that's only 8 subjects.

And I get paid what for all this?

I might be considering a career change. It's very difficult to justify all the work I have to do, and all the time away from my family for this amount of money.

Teachers deserve to vent when they want. You are underappreciated, Coach. We know what you are worth and you aren't getting paid for it. That goes for all of you teachers of ours!

BIG 1

My boyfriend is a teacher and I hear a lot of what you are saying from him too. Hang in there--the school is lucky to have a guy like you around!

And vacations are just around the corner! thumbs up

I graduated from a Catholic high school in 1979. By the time I had been out of school ten years, many of my former teachers had left to work in private bidness.

Still traumatized over your mischief, ten years later they were finally able to get out.

It was pretty lame and I don't remember it.

Besides, I was a lover, not a fighter.
