I almost always run in a "rural" part of town. There are no sidewalks and the streets are narrow or are one lane roads. I always run against traffic so I can see what's coming, and what I've noticed is that the men drivers always veer left and give me plenty of room. The women drivers will slow down, but won't veer left. Has anyone else observed this? Is this a behaviour specific to Yorba Lindans?

I always ran with traffic I noticed cars veering left instead of slowing down. Didn't really notice the sex of the driver

I have noticed that some cars move into the other lane while some just move over a little, but it's too dark for me to see who's driving.

I find mostly people wearing eye patches are the worst drivers.

That is most likely because their peg leg gets stuck on the gas pedal.

Not to mention their hooks get caught in the steering wheel.

I've experienced this as well, except I still veer left to give the runners/walkers/cyclists lots of room.

Back on subject here: I was just telling a co-worker the same exact thing. I noticed it riding my bike this morning. Women drivers are so rude, they don't move over at all! And they are even worse when they are on their cell phones. I actually had to flip one off this morning for hogging the road.

And the parrot on their shoulder obstructs their view. On my running route (very rural) dudes on tractors are the BEST. They are going so slow (or maybe I am running so fast? Mr. Green ) that they have time to veer way out, give me a thumbs up and usually a wave.

I don't know. In my new hood it's not so bad; in my old one here people seemed to think that anyone running, blading, or cycling was target practice for their bumpers and verbal harranguement, men and women alike.

That seems strange, however, you'd think that at least a few of the women would be able to relate to your position and behave accordingly while driving.
