Posted: 03/03/04 - 14:30 Post subject: Stephen King's Kingdom Hospital
Starts tonight at 8 pm Central time on ABC.
Who's watching?
In contrast to King's other miniseries...which ran over the course of a week or so like most miniseries...they are doing this one different.
Putting it on, once a week, like a regular series.
Looks like I'll be taping "the OC" for a few weeks.

Count me in!!
I read in the paper yesterday that they've already got a 2nd season mapped out. If the show does well it could become a regular series.

not I, 2 things wrong with it.
it's in a hospital, having worked in them almost all my adult life, had enough of that.
the other is the fact it's Stephen King. i can only think of onepiece of work he did that did not put me into a coma, The Stand. everything else puts me to sleep. :snoresville:

I only watched the last hour. Not too impressed. I was hoping that the department head guy was going to get killed by the derelicts on the corner, though.

It was a little slow. I'll give it a few more chances tho. It looks like it might pick up.

I watched the first 30 minutes then went to bed (not related to it, just tired). I taped the rest and haven't watched yet. Thought the first bit was pretty weird with that guy laying there "talking" and the weird anteater thing....what the??? I'll probably watch the rest and then decide whether to keep watching the rest.

I watched it and plan on watching more. The only thing about Stephen King is that sometimes he just loves to take forever to develop his characters & plot. It'll be interesting to see if he can get away with that on TV when most people don't have the patience to let a good story develop.

I watched it and definitely enjoyed it. Although I kept telling Mr Aire that he (SK) needs to tie up some loose strings soon or people will lose interest. (mainly me)
I plan on watching at least next week.
I am not really a SK fan, but for some reason the premise of this show compelled me.

I watched part of it, and was intrigued. Probably because I missed the beginning. I'll probably give it another shot or two before I form a firm opinion. I was surprised at the similarities to things from other books, and of course, the main hospital patient is based on King's own experience.
Did anyone else think that the bear/anteater creature was sort of like the creater in "The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon"? Also, some names sounded awfully familiar to me.
