and the jokes are flying by email:

Be careful not to speed in Pittsburgh; the police are handing out Steeler
tickets.

Q: What's the difference between the Steelers and a dollar bill?

A: You can still get four quarters out of a dollar.

Q: What do you call 47 people watching an NFL playoff game on TV?

A: The Pittsburgh Steelers.

Q: What's the difference between O.J. Simpson and the Steelers?

A: O.J. Simpson at least had a defense.

Announcement from public address system at Heinz Field: "Will the parents who
lost your eleven kids here at the stadium please come get them? They are
beating the Steelers 14-0."

Q: What do the Steelers and possums have in common?

A: Both play dead at home and get killed on the road.

Q: How do you keep the Steelers out of your yard?

A: Put up goal posts.

Q: Why was Bill Cowher upset when the Steelers playbook was stolen?

A: He wasn't finished coloring in it yet.

I've heard all those before, but they were always about the Vikings.

Pittsburgh AP -- A Pittsburgh Steelers football practice was delayed nearly two hours today after a player reported finding an unknown white powdery
substance on the practice field. Head coach Bill Cowher immediately suspended practice while police and federal investigators were called to investigate. After a complete analysis, FBI forensic experts determined that the white substance unknown to the players was the goal line. Practice was resumed after special agents decided the team was unlikely to encounter the substance again.

Yeah, just goes to show you....how short memories are. Why, it seems to me that the last time they (Browns vs. Steelers) played, it was in Pittsburgh and well, our Brownies won. Of course, that was just a payback for the Steelers winning in Cleveland.

And their records? Samey same. Big difference? The Browns are closer to being an expansion team than the Steelers.

Monday Night and it might get ugly.

I knew I liked you! My memories even shorter, and much more vivid. In my happy world, the Browns always beat the Steelers. (and the Bungles are still the laughing stock of OH)

My memory is long - unfortunately. I can remember the day that the Browns beat the (then) Baltimore Colts to win the NFL Championship. That was way too long ago.

But you're being too kind to the Bengals. They aren't (weren't) the laughing stock of just Ohio. They were the laughing stock of the entire professional football world. How bad have they been over the last thirteen years? They've been so bad that, after winning just six games this season, Marvin Lewis was being mentioned as Coach of the Year! I mean, gee, they don't have a winning season locked up but they've been so bad, six or seven wins makes him look like a genius. For my money? Bill Parcells, easy. He's done more with less. Face it, Dick Vermeil was right. When he was told before the Chiefs game with the Bengals' WR (and newest bad boy - Keyshawn's cousin, no less) Chad Johnson guaranteed a victory, Vermeil said, "It's about time." There's a lot of truth in it. The Bengals have had so many top draft choices - I mean, high first round picks - that sooner or later, they had to win. It's really not fair to compare apples to oranges but he's almost like Sparky Anderson with the '75-'76 Reds. How tough was it to manage that team? Hall-of-Famers throughout the lineup. I'm not holding my breath nor am I buying any Bengals' playoff tickets yet.

Sorry for the interruption, folks. We now take you back to our regularly scheduled bashing of the Steelers.

No Actually the Steelers just beat the Browns--the browns won earlier in the season---
I guess I need to explain it was a joke- coming from the typical Yinzer mentality.....I actually like the fact the Browns are back in the league after their old gutless owner stole them from Cleveland

Holy crap! Didn't I say that the memories are short? Smile And you'd think that with so few wins, it would be easy to remember all of them. Gee, it was only a couple of weeks ago that the Browns gave the ball away five, count 'em - 5 - times, and in three of them (t.o.'s) resulted in points - 1 TD and 2 FG's for the Steelers. It seemed like less a case of the Steelers being ept than it was an example of how inept the Browns were.

And thanks for the sentiment about (f)Art Modell...of coure, the folk in Baltimore must simply adore him....

Bam Bam! I was doing my best to block that horrible memory from my brain. A pathetic game by both teams. ('m sure that was MSparks excuse too...we only remember wins, so we remember very little)
