Met up with elkid. We hung out in my car until start (which was 25 minutes late ).
Felt Like I had a great race, but was about 1 minute off off my pr. I was so sure that I would break 1:35, but I didn't (more on that, later).
Here are my splits.
1 - 6:56
2 - 6:47
3 - 6:50
4 - 7:04
5 - 7:18
6 - 6:53
7 - 7:07
8 - 7:53
9 - 7:04
10 - 7:19
11 - 7:50
12 - 7:42
13 - 8:43 (I am absolutely positive this mile was at least a minute long)
13.1 - 48:56
1:36:21. I bumped into an elite runner I know, and he told me that mile 12 to 13 was a minute longer for him (he ran a 1:14).
We will see if the RRC fesses up to the true length (it was a new course this year).
I feel surprisingly good, nonetheless. Here is my Half Marathons for the Year:
Brooklyn March 8. 1:35:31 45 °F
Queens May 17. 1:35:45 48 °F
Bronx July 6. 1:41:33 86°F, Hum 51%
Manhattan August 3 1:42:03 78 °F high humidity
Staten Island October 12 1:36:16 61 °F humidity: 87 %
I think I perform better in the cool weather!

Sounds like a great race, with the exception of the late start and extra long mile. Nice splits!

Good goin' Monk.. few things as irritating as an inaccurate couse. And to think you're in PR shape Consolation has to be you'll be slapping down a marathon Pr instead

suh-WEET! I didn't even bother to look for you on the out & back because I was sure you were way ahead. Obviously you were.
YES, YOU ARE RIGHT. That last mile was too long. I have proof. Will detail in my report. Especially the window fogging part.

Great job on all five half-marathons. I suspect the RD will be looking closely at the 13th mile on the course.

All of those are good times. You've really shown yourself to be a consistently good runner this year.
