The High School football team ended their regular season last night with a 54-0 whooping. They finished the regular season at 8-0 and ranked #1 in the State in class 9B.

SD has a 45 point "mercy rule" for 9 man football. Basically it says, that a game is 45 points or more by halftime. the game ends at halftime. If they go into the second half, as soon as one team gets 45 points ahead, the game ends immediately.

So, we have won 8 games. And ended each and every game by the 45 point mercy rule. 3 of the games were over at halftime...Including last nights.

Don't think coach is running it up on people either. He usually takes the starters out after they get to 35-0 or so. The second string guys have finished every game.

They have given up 12 points in 8 games. Both times, the second team gave up the scores...The starting defense hasn't given up a single point, and maybe only like1 or 2 first downs the entire season.

They are just so amazing Shocked I had to share.

The Halas family will be contacting St. Mary's shortly to pick up some talent for their team.

Quick recap of last night's game..(we played a very poor, 0-8 team)

We Kick off...
1st down...5 yard loss...
2nd and 15..2 yard loss
3rd and 17 intercepted, ran back to 5 yard line

1st down...touchdown pass Cardinals.

We kick off
3 plays no gain
punt--returned for a touchdown. 14-0. The game is 3 minutes old.

The coach pulls out all the starters and goes to the bench.

I just thought I would post this, because reading my first post made me think it does sound like we were running it up, and just wanted to give a good example.

Each class is broken into four regions...top 4 teams in each region make the playoffs. You play within your region games first...then 2 regions square off to go to the finals.

The rankings are made on a "power points" system, that is very complicated, and understood by few. Since we had a number of cupcakes on our schedule, we'll probably have to travel away for a playoff game or two, since a few other schools have higher power points.

I don't think anyone will really come close to them. The took runner up last year, and only lost one senior. They beat a team that is a class bigger than them, that is 6-2, by 50-0.

It's gonna be a fun few weeks around here. Very Happy

Now, if only your Chargers would get their heads out of their kazoos, no?

I don't know what their problem is?

Marty better get his act together or he's history.

This team is much better than they are playing.
