Posted: 12/30/05 - 19:35 Post subject: Spring Racing Plans yet?
I've kind of settled on my spring training plans.
"A" Race- 50 mile race at the Mohican June 17.
Training and build ups:
50K Fun Run Buckeye Trail January 28. This is actually pick your distance, 13 miles, full marathon, 50 K. Hopefully my knee issue will be over by then.
Athens Marathon April 2-Athens, Ohio that is. I have ran the 1/2 marathon here, nice flat bike trail out and back.
May:
Is interesting. With that being my long run month, I could potentially run both the Flying Pig in Cinti and the Cleveland Marathon 2 weeks later, and the Capon Valley 50K in WV in between. I will do at least 1 or 2 of these.

Wow,
That is an aggressive plan for the spring! Good Luck,
Mine is a little easier.
February, I am going to run the Tampa Triple officially known as the PT Cruiser Challenge which is part of the Gasparilla Distance Classic
Mid March, Gate River 15K and at the end of March the Guana River State Park 50K.

Both of you have aggressive plans, good going.
I am running the Indy Mini-Marathon on May 6th and contemplating the Lakeshore Marathon in Chicago on Memorial Day.
They have big RD issues at the Lakeshore (ran 1 mile long last year), but the course is absolutely beautiful....

I was thinking of the Cleveland 1/2 also but $65 for a half marathon is ridiculous. I'll look for a different early season long race.

I don't like the fee either, but am a little more limited about which weekends I can race with the visitation schedule... this one actually fits.

Jeez, I didn't realize it was that expensive! I didn't even look at fees yet. I've totally revised my spring racing plans. That half looked promising except for the $$.
Rob, I'm the queen of finding obscure races. I'll be on the lookout. There is a half-marathon in Athens April 2. That might be pretty early though.

I have my races planned out for the spring and summer...I'm not planning anything for the fall yet as I am heading back to school and I'm not where I'll be geographically speaking.
Mostly shorter stuff planned out this year.
Spring
Feb 19- 'First 1/2' 1/2 marathon
Early April- Spring Classic 5k
April 23- Vancouver Sun Run (10k)= goal race
An 8k on Mother's Day weekend
Summer
Longest Day 5k (June 20-something)
Post-to-Post 10k July 1 (Canada Day)
All Comers Track Meet- either 3000 or 5000m..this will be my 1st track meet in a very long time- early July
Summerfast 10k (goal race)- July 23
If I'm going back to school in Vancouver, then I may try for a 1/2 marathon in November.
