I was hoping to fire up a coversation about endurance athlete sponsors (running, cycling, multisports, etc.).

Who here is sponsored? And if you don't mind sharing, how does your sponsor(s) support you? With product, entry fees, other? How do you feel about sponsorships? What does it take to get sponsored? How did you get hooked up with your sponsor(s)? Etc...

I can start:
I am partially sponsored by the company I work for. I have not actually "earned" it with my performance. Among my responsibilities is being the director of marketing, and there are a number of athletes here, so I've worked sponsorships into my annual marketing budget. To date we have supplied cycling jerseys, and paid entry fees to (5K/10K) road races .

Nike gives me 4 pairs of shoes each year at 40% of wholesale, through the deal they have with the racing team I'm on.

Besides that, I get warm-ups, singlet, and shorts (just one complete uni) from the running store that sponsors our team. We also get some percentage discounts, but nothing major.

That's the only sponsorship I get.
