We had to get a new car recently, and one of the "features" was heated seats. I scoffed at these, because living in SoCal, it would seem they are pretty useless. But now...I LOVE THOSE HEATED SEATS! I don't really need them, but they sure feel good, especially after a long day at work.
So what special features of your car, appliance, whatever...did you originally scoff at, but now really like?

I absolutely love the heated seats! Always thought the radio controls on the steering wheel were over-rated but now I love them too.

My truck has an engine, tires, a heater and a snowplow. Those are all the features I need. Oh yeah, and a pretty decent sound system. When you drive a 20 yr old vehicle daily your standards get lowered.....

Keyless remote. It came with my model and I thought it was useless until the first time I had 2 armloads of groceries. I don't think I've ever used the actual key on my car since I've owned it, its great.

Good one!
I cannot tell you how much I started loving my keyless remote until I had one toddler being carried in one arm and an infant being carried in an infant carseat on the other. I somehow managed to push the unlock button to get the van opened. Thank god those days are over.

Howabout the "popcorn" touch pad on your microwave? I really like that one now too!

DEFINITELY keyless entry! I always seem to carry more than I can handle, even without lugging kids around. I miss my radio controls on the steering wheel, this car doesn't have them, but I do have heated side mirrors, which are really nice in the winter when everything else is frozen, they were always a beeyotch to scrape before.
Heated seats in the next one, most certainly. I've heard they are wonderful. I'll probably get them when I move to Wisconsin.

Crushed ice makers built into the refridgerator still kind of gives me a thrill. We didn't have one when I was a kid.
It seems sort of old, but then so am I

We got a new car in August--I thought the 6 cd changer was pointless--until I used it. It rocks!!!
Also, we got heated seats--and I LOVE LOVE LOVE them. Especially good if my back is sore....
