You may nor may not know that my kids aren't into sports. I've been feeling for a while that we need to change this. So, Will had brought home a wrestling form for a wrestling club (1st-8th graders) through our high schol. Since Kramer was a wrestler in high school, I thought this might be a good thing for Will to try, give him something to talk about with his dad. Assuming they ever talk again. Different topic, different day.
Anyhoo. Registration is Monday. Practices are one-hour sessions, 2x a week, from Jan 24 to March 19. Not a huge committment IMO, plus will get Will out among other kids and get him to use up some of his energy. The boy is a ball of fire from sun up to sun down.
Now I just need an activity for Lib and Jake and we're set!

Hope Will takes to the wrasslin'!
Dave wrestled from 7th grade into his sophomore year in high school. He went to the junior high state tournament in 8th grade. His one claim to fame is wrestling as a heavyweight (he was about six feet tall and 180 pounds, giving up 60+ pounds in most of his matches), he was the first wrestler for his school to qualify for State in that class.
His high school coach wanted him to be mean (as in aggressive), and that is not our son at all. So he stopped early in the sophomore season.

Hopefully at this young age, the coaches will just be into teaching them form and sportsmanship, and not the competitive side. I'd just like to be able to give Will something that is fun and helps him make more friends. We're not talking Vision Quest yet.
I can see where Dave would be a good wrestler.

You know, I'm not sure how to get a hold of enough jello to fill a vat
Oh and this is snowballing. We're now putting Will in wrestling, and all 3 of them into indoor soccer. It will make for a busy family, but w/ wrestling on Tue/Thur and soccer on Sat (practices) and Sun (games for Libby), we won't have scheduling conflicts. I told Will that he could do both for now and then by the time we're figuring out things the next time they come about, he can decide if he likes one better than the other and then just pursue the one sport.
I don't want, nor do I have the time, to have a child in a bunch of activities. Both of these however are reasonable by way of time investment, so I think we can pull it off.
Now if we can get Kramer to pony up some activity money, we'll be set! ($205 for all kids, total. Seems like a lot of money to this mom!)

Yeah, I hear that you can meet single daddies through sports.
I do think it will be fun. Kathryn keeps telling me to get/stay busy. Busy evidently is good?
