I stopped abruptly this AM when I spotted a mini-pump on the side of the road. I've been wanting a smaller pump that fit into my backpack better and now I have one. w00ty w00t!
It's been a while since I found any good roadside goodies. I thought I'd lost my touch.

I've heard the Swedish minipumps are particularly effective at alleviating this problem.

Those actually work really well. I have one strapped to the trek and I always thought if I needed to use it I'd get all of 20 PSI in my tube and be back where I started with a flat. But we were able to get enough pressure in the tube to feel safe riding on it anyway using my pump.  for road finds!

In the course of my many runs I have found:
Several sets of IDs mailed to the addresses on them.
A beat up radar detector
Many thousands of Marlboro Cigarette Miles - I got a really nifty Fuji bike one year.
The most unusual: A set of "guy toys" still in the box, still in the shrink wrap.
My other running friends manage to find:
CD's, Craftsman wrenches and other tools, some money, railroad spikes.
