Molly, how's your new guy doing? He'll adjust, keep him! Rescued little pups are always so grateful, they just need a little bit of extra attention at first, and some down time. (Then again, I'd keep anything doglike that wandered into my yard. I'm not allowed to go to the pound.)
But something is eating my dog's food, and it's NOT the dog. She had a full bowl of food 20 minutes ago, and since she's sleeping by my feet, she obviously didn't clean it out. I'm sleeping with the pellet gun tonight until Larry gets home.

Inside dog bowl or outside dog bowl?
Inside bowl...mice, rats, snakes (don't ask I know!)
Outside bowl: dogs, cats, coyotes, ground hogs, squirrels, or just about anything

Inside dog bowl, and there's all sorts of unusual wildlife down here.
She's definitely an indoor dog.
We had a possum issue a while ago. Not any more, or I thought, but if I see a possum in this house it's getting shot with the pellet gun!

You need to move the dog bowl to people's view...and get some big mouse traps too....
We have a dog door to the outside, which over time, has lead to some fun critters inside the house.

He's a sweetheart and I'm falling for him. My hubby is out of town and I'm dying for him to get home tomorrow to spend more time with pooch. My only concern right now is the thing with his back right leg and if there is some permanent or serious issue there, or if he just walks funny and it won't be a big deal long term. I'm definitely really scared of him having some problem that becomes a major issue in a few years. I know there are never any guarantees, but I wonder if we are setting ourselves up for something bad if we see this thing already. But then again, maybe it will never be anything big and he'll just have a little cute butt shaking walk. He is just so sweet and so easy to have around. He showed some nice spunk when we went to the park today and walked and played. He was so cute, I took him to the lake and he just walked right in and sat down, he didn't swim, just sat there. I guess he was cooling off!! Anyway, I have told my hubby we are making a final commitment one way or the other this weekend because otherwise there's no way I can get attached to him and not keep him.......So we'll see.
On your dog....if the bowl is inside I have no idea. There would have to be some pretty big critters running around. I'd just stay on top of the kitchen table for now.

Cute does not = possum like babysitter does not = Michael Jackson
