My old company no/no, my current job there is a big discount on a gym. But I have my own membership at a gym I like better.

The USAF has a gym that we can use for free and the hours are great--unless you work nightshift. It is very well stocked.
The pool we pay for, but it's like a buck a swim during lap hours.
Mr Aire's building has two treadmills, a weight machine, two stair climbers, and a recumbent. And a full set of free weights. We use that one since it's more private.

I've had experience in two places with fairly large employee counts. Both had very nice gyms. In my five years of almost daily attendance at the gyms I repeatedly saw the same 20 people. This is out of an employee base of 2000+ and the other about 1000+. The only time these counts went up was - guess when ? January.
Please understand, I'm not disagreeing with you, its just that my experience has been only the real hard core people will attend. Everyone else will just stay idle.

Sadly, I bet you're right.
But, if the logic of anti gun peeps may be borrowed, if it's around, isn't there a greater likelihood it will be used?
And that way, also the company can not later be sued for providing an unhealthy workplace. CYA on the co's part.

Why would it be the company's responsibility to make sure you exercise?

I know its true. I'll bet if you went to your base gym for about a month, you'd eventually notice its the same group of people there day after day. (And this is a place where physical fittness is a job requirement.)

Why would it be the company's responsibility to make sure you exercise? | Same reason as usual: no personal responsibility.
It's not the company's responsibility, but I can see a lawsuit 10 years from now saying that Mr Joe Corporate's heart attack was caused by a lack of availability of exercise equipment on site and because the company demanded so much from him...yadda yadda yadda....
And Andy, you're right. I've seen it at the gym. Even the chick who dresses up to nines with makeup and killer exercise outfits to troll for troops. It'd be funny if it wasn't so

Creeping Death wears cammo.
We don't have a gym or get any discounts. We sure do have a nice "smoke shack" tho.

Oh I know that too. I see the same people in my gym too day after day. And would you believe of the business discount I offer I have one business who takes advantage of it. And it isn't really a business. It's our volunteer fire department. I offer them the discount cuz it just seems right.
