The gym is right next door to the funeral home. In fact one of my business partners from the gym also owns the funeral home. Anyway I was over there one day and they had out this catalog looking at different caskets. There was 1 in there that I saw and said I absolutely wanted for my own funeral. It was UPS brown and yellow and looked like a delivery package. In big letters across the top it said "RETURN TO SENDER"
I thought it was hilarious and was serious about wanting it. I like to joke around and don't want everyone standing around bawling when I go. Would this offend you, seriously???

It might if I didn't know you had picked it....
My old gym was next to a pizza place, so over near the free weights all you could smell was garlic and oregano, it was like torture!

I would be offended that my family spent hard-earned money on a perfectly good steel box just to stick it in the ground for eternity.
Cremation or a pine box would work just fine for me.
Side note :: My family made lots of money in the funeral business and I have not problems with families spending big bucks for fancy steel boxes.

Ph I'm with ya! I'd rather have my family spend money on something else other than an expensive box to bury me in. I'm fine with having my parts donated to whomever might need them (as I most certianly will not) and the what's left will be cremated.

I was watching some show about the marketing of the band Kiss, and much to my horror Kiss caskets are available to the public.

Though a Megadeth casket would be stating the obvious.

As with most things, I probably over analyze it, but when it comes to death and dying, that's where the rubber meets the road in a spiritual sense for me. It's a serious statement for eternity. If you're comfortable in your beliefs on what "happens next", then go for it. The scary part to me is how much death is trivialized in our modern society. To me, life is one big trip to the starting line of eternity. Being at peace in your mind that you've made the journey and arrived where you want to is what's important. If those around you know this and can be happy for you, then celebrating might be in order. But for so many that never seem to be asking all the questions, finding all the answers and so often "living for today", a funeral that leaves mourners wondering, yeah, it would be uneasy.

Do any come in Garnet and Gold?
No really. I have done a lot of thinking about this and I don't live somewhere that I feel is my home. So, getting buried is really hard for me to figure out. The only place that feels right to me, would to be buried right next to my Grandfather in WI (where I feel I have roots). However, that last plot is reserved for my Grandmother.
I think at this time I'd ask for my ashes to be spread in the Atlantic Ocean. Take a cruise, have a toast to me and send me on my way.

Tempting....but...
Scarier is that I do actually know people who would love that. Texas A&M may beat even UK fans on their school pride, I imagine those are a big seller.

Yep. Most major college teams are available (not just Kentucky). I read an article in the spring that said Nebraska and Florida were the two top selling schools. I think the company making them is based in Macon, Georgia.

I think I read the same article.
A good friend of mine is a funeral director. He seen a few of these come through, and all of them have been in University of Tennessee colors.
Nothing says going out in style like "Rocky Top" at a funeral, no?
