There's a zero missing from my Christmas bonus!
Company Christmas party was on Saturday night and that's traditionally when Christmas bonuses are handed out. This year the boss got up and gave a quickie speach and handed us our Christmas 'token'. He apologized for it being so small and gave a few encouraging words that maybe next year they'll be able to find that missing zero.
So much for getting that new bike.

Sounds like alot of folks are getting 'da snub' this year, PH. We don't even have a Christmas Party this year?

All was not lost though. It was a lot of fun watching the boss's daughter get wasted and almost fall face-first into her dinner plate.

OH hell that would've been worth it right there! Any photos?
I wouldn't go to the company xmas party if they paid me. To me brown isn't a holiday color.

I have always looked to my second job for my holiday "bonus." When I used to wait for someone else to figure out what it was worth I was always profoundly disappointed.

I've never had a job in which holiday bonuses were given.

I've never had one either. And I just found out that apparently in lieu of a Christmas Party, we are having yet another dumb-ass team-building retreat at - get this - The Columbus Sqare Bowling Palace - in February.
Wait, I take that back. When I worked in restaurants, one of them always gave us a free bottle of Andre "champagne" at the holidays. Nothing but the best, I tell you. Only the finest.

All right, Kristen's going bowling in February! They'd boost morale a helluva lot more if they took the money spent on the "retreat" and just divied it up amongst the employees.

I have worked for companies that have given nice holiday bonuses. that said, the longer I worked for the one in particular, the worse the bonus got. It finally disappeared completely. Now that I work for the public schools, there is nothing.
well, maybe not "nothing", but nothing from administration. the rewards come from the kids. and sometimes I get a cool gift from them too.
funny, you'd think that my church jobs would be generous at the holidays, but in my 20 years of working for churches, none of them have ever come through with a memorable bonus.
