Traditionally, my holiday bonus has been a large part of my salary (sometimes as much as 15-20%). I have seen it decrease by almost 50% over the past few years (whilst receiving no raise).
As for my Christmas party, I generally opt out, but this year our big boss (from my smaller, pre bought out company) paid for the party out of his own pocket. Our wicked, step-parent company, being that they suck, cheaped out. Our boss thought that we needed some down time and footed the bill (it had to be in the $20,000 range). I thought that was so nice of him that I had to go. I even talked some of the top brass into running a 10k with me. I found out that one had actually ran 3 marathons with a pr of 3:50 (I have to beat him!) and another's mother-in-law is sponsored by New Balance!
I threw a few ales down with them and thoroughly enjoyed myself.
Now all I need is a raise.
