This is ridiculous! I got woken because I have 11 new bites. From in the house, so they are obviously breeding somewhere in here. I am going to napalm this entire island! Thank you for letting me vent.

Just wanted to add credibility to my idea:

It's not very effective. There's really not a whole lot you can do... except for grow thicker skin.

Well, we've got geckos everywhere in the yard , as well as a baby iguana! and all they do is eat mosquitos. Occasionally we get them in the house as well, then they find their way out (which is presumably the same as the way that they got in).
Greg, the bedding thing is not a bad idea, except I can see it being an issue with naps. Maybe for the hammock?
Aire, interestingly enough, I've never seen a bat down here (as opposed to a bunch in Ohio). I think the geckos serve the same purpose as bats?
I'm looking for more of an indoor bug zapper. I had mosquito repellant that worked for a while. Now I think that they are getting high from it as they bite me more when it's on that not.

| But bats are also potential reservoirs for the rabies virus...trust me..you don't want to get bitten by one...

Put some Lemon scented Joy on a plain white dish in the room. They will be drawn to that and not you! Or you can take a few Bounce dryer sheets and place them around your bed, that will keep them away as well.
If you are in the yard working put a bounce dryer sheet in your belt loop that will also keep them away from you.

Of course you don't want to get bitten by one. I don't want to get bitten by anything. Mosquitos can also be infection carriers as well. I still prefer bats to mosquitos. We had bats in Jersey, San Antonio, and here. I think they're pretty cool.

Crazyfrog, they are everywhere down here. Literally. I think that they are pretty cool. (BTW, we live in the FL Keys.)
RunningBrewer, I'll try Bounce and the Joy both. Sounds like a plan.
Aire - I was talking to the SO earlier and he's never seen a bat down here either. Maybe they don't like the climate (or the fishheads!).

I wonder why the bats don't like it there? That would be cool to learn why. (It's not like most people really want bats around their homes anyway )
If you ever do see one, let me know--stuff like that fascinates me!
Good luck on the mosquito problem. I hate mosquitos. THEY SUCK!!!!
