...who they are messin' with!
So, we went to order DirectTV with Tivo (thank you, Pffff) and they couldn't install it until Sept 9th (this was 2 weeks ago that we wanted to order it!). So, we decided to go with a local vendor who installs DTV. I called on Monday to make an appointment and the lady set me up for 3:00 today. I thought it was kind of odd I got to pick my own time but they seemed like a small company so I didn't say anything.
So, I'm out with a friend for lunch to celebrate her birthday and my cell phone rings. I didn't hear it in time to get to it and they left a message. The number didn't look familiar and was a Maryland number so I didn't worry about checking the messages and interrupting our conversation.
When I got home I decided to check my messages and it was a message from the DTV people (at 12:30 p.m.) saying they were at my house and were going to leave in just a few minutes. I arrived at my home at 12:45 (coincidentally) and they had already GONE! I called the guy and he said I would have to reschedule.
WHAT!!!! I WILL NOT RESCHEDULE WHEN THE DUDE WASN'T SUPPOSED TO BE HERE UNTIL 3 PM!!!!!!!!
So, I've been on the phone on and off since 12:45 trying to get these dorks to get their butts out here and give me DTV before I have to pull out the red belt and do a little whoop arse!!!

The telephone company has an excellent reputation for service. Don't lump them in with the cable company who has some of the worst service known to man.

I won't bore you with the details of my 5 mile move of service and the 5+ hours on the phone it has required....I think passing an act through congress, hell, passing a kidney stone has to be easier (and more pleasant) than dealing with SBC.

(BTW, I could care less about it...it is the DH who wants to watch FOOTBALL all season long. Of course, I can't complain too loud. We rarely get to see the Packer's play since we don't even get basic cable right now!).

we had DTV. note i said had. we got it about 3 years ago because the whole phone/internet/cable thing was getting out of hand (if one went out, they all did).
anywhoo, so we get the satelite. its all fine and dandy, till it rains. for three years, ANY time it rained, we had no tv. then the problems got really bad about a year ago. apparently the bill was on automatic withdrawl on a creditcard. on more than one occasion, service was shut off due to "lack of payment". then later on, the satelite quit working mysteriously. evidently, we needed a new dish. this was a three month ordeal which involved people less qualified than me to work on our equipment coming to our house every few weeks because something wasnt right. seriously, we had fuzz more than we got to watch tv.
so last week we got cable back and we get all the same channels and then some. and its been very stormy here and the tv hasnt gone out once.
