I am a low 8 minute per mile runner? I guess that makes me a quarter packer.

That would probably depend on if you were running an 8 min pace in a one mile race or a 50 mile ultra!

Uggghh....50 miles. I cannot even comprehend such a thing.
grego262, your pace sounds like mine. I think we're in the right place.

My training runs have been around 8 minutes lately and I am shooting for a sub 20 5K in 2 weeks and a 7:30 pace for a 5 mile race later this year! That will get me farther up in the packs but definitely not the top yet.

I guess it's all relevant to what approx % you are in in your chosen race distance.

50 miles isn't too bad. Just don't try to do it at a 8 minute pace. My first 50-miler was at about a 20 minute pace. My second was at just over a 10 minute pace.
I actually found the second 50-miler was easier than the marathon I did a month before.

Welcome, kobyj! Someday I'll reach a 50-miler. Well, a marathon first. And before that, a half marathon. I did do a 20K - about 9 minute pace. Does this make me outta da club?
