After one year? or two, of them not reciprocating? Most of the peeps in question are the same group that didn't bother to respond in one way or another, to our wedding invitations . They did not respond to our cards last year, nor have they this year. To be fair, both my and Larry's schedules have been horribly hectic; mine from the new job and his from the beginning of season at work. What would you do?

Screw them. Especially the ones who never responded to the wedding invites. I've had years where I didn't have time to send a ton of cards and felt bad about it, but as I recall I at least sent ones back to those who sent to me as I got them....or emailed them later or something. But the wedding thing, that's just frigging rude. It takes all of 10 seconds to check "yes or no", lick the envelope and put out in the mail.
What do your busy schedules have to do with it though? You have an answering machine so it's not like if they called you wouldn't know it or they wouldn't be able to leave a message.....quit making excuses for these losahs and kick them to the curb....

Pre internet, we sent out about 100 cards. That was ridiculous.
If a friend has email, they get a link to our Christmas newletter that we put on husband's website. (along with a personal email).
About the only cards I do now are people without internet access, which is mostly older friends from our veterans association.
I haven't sent any cards this year. Yet. I do have the cards I received, and I do need to get a few out.
If they haven't sent you a card this year, I would scratch them off the list. I have some old college friends that eventually stopped sending them, so I stopped too.

We are pretty bad about sending cards every year. I really only send cards to my riff raff friends.

Well, if you've contacted them 3x in the past year and have not heard from them, then you could remove them from your list and not feel badly about it..
I send cards to people I care about, and I don't expect one in return. Oh, don't mistake this for not running to mailbox every day to check, and yeah, I tally them up every year (LOL) and and may have bruised feelings over it if I realize someone missed us. But it's a hectic time. Cards are expensive, and it seems like I end up adding several people every year. Not everyone can do them because of lack of time or money or whatever.
Plus for the past several years, the card has been a photo of the children (this year I included myself in the pic) and I never miss an opportunity to show them off!

We can go to the parade together | I'm sure we can show up fifteen minutes after it begins, and get seats on the reviewing stand.

It saddens me that some people only send Christmas cards to those who reciprocate. So not in the holiday spirit of giving, and not from the heart. With everything going on in my life the last 2 holiday seasons, I didn't send cards. Next year I'm doing them in the summer. I'm appreciative of every card I get, and thankful that person took the time (which I know is extremely precious) to think of me.

Never
Edited to say...I will probably get dropped after this year. I haven't written out cards at all. I'm swamped and it's the farthest thing from my mind. In years past, I wrote out 150 or more. Yikes. I'll have some catching up to do in the years to come.

When I send cards, I do it to let people know they mean something to me. I don't take them off the list if I haven't heard from them in a while.
