Posted: 01/13/05 - 09:37 Post subject: So here I am waiting for the guano to hit the fan...
You may remember my little bout with the ER before New Year. Well I saw the kidney doc last week. This week starts the tests. NO these are not your run of the mill SAT's.
Tomorrow I have to go in for a IVP test. Dyes will be injected to make sure there is nothing in the kidneys. Its not the actual test that bothers me, its the laxatives and liquid diet that are troubling.
So I'm just sitting here waiting for the laxatives to do their work. Coupled with the fact I can't eat anything, this has all the earmarks of a GREAT 36 hours (the test is Friday sometime after 0900).
Next week I have to go in for a cystoscopy. This will involve a probe...

If you don't want the guano to hit the fan, aim the other way!!
Seriously, take care. Hope everything goes as well as it possibly can.

A woman I work with had a colonoscopy when she turned 50 just b/c it was the right time to do it. Turned out it saved her life, b/c she had colon cancer and otherwise probably wouldn't have known about it until it was too late.
Now get poopin', and good luck.

I also hope everything comes out well, in both senses of the phrase.

i've had the cystoscope myself, it's nowhere near as bad as expected. Thank god for numbing gels though.
I don't recal having an IVP, i had a topogragh instead in which they took xrays at different views to get a 3D image of it. it was determined the Stone was to large to pass so they did a lithotripsy. the worse part was recovery from that, the broken stone peices where really small and i hardly felt anything at all passing them.
however I am thinking i might have another stone. and not looking forward to all that cr@p again.
good luck dude

Yuck, I had an IVP a couple years ago. I feel your pain (and the GI rumblings). I hope it all comes out negative....and quickly. Fingers crossed for you!
