I did a little bit of web browsing and decided to email the contact people for the LSU cycling club and LSU running club. So far neither have emailed me back... guess they don't check their email 9 times a day like I do. Perhaps I'll join... perhaps not. Depends on the emails hehe.

That first step is always the hardest. I'm proud of you for trying something new!

Good luck. They'll be fortunate to make your acquaintance.

Update: The running club meets 6:00 Tuesday and Thursday night to run, the conveniently right when I have class. The guy said the longest runs they do is either 6 or 8 miles. I think I need the most support on long runs, so that wouldn't really help me much. I may still try to get out there one day if class is cancelled.

Maybe they can put you in touch with someone in the club who would like to go on longer runs with you on a different day?

Good luck! Keep trying! Joining a club is a great way to get to know and socialize with people with similar interests/goals. I got to know quite a number of people this year from joining the tri/du club at school.
