stereo receiver is on it's last legs. The left channel has been reduced to poor sound quality and a lot of static and it's time to start searching for a new receiver. Anybody with any recommendations or personal favorites? I'd like to keep cost under $225 and I need 100 watts/channel with as low THD as possible. This unit would just be driving music - no AV uses, no surround sound, etc. I've been looking on the 'net at the products out there but figured I'd ask here also before I started getting serious.

What stores are available near you?
There are not that many stereo receivers out there as most of them are now surround sound. You should be able to find one in that price range though from Pioneer, Yamaha, Kenwood, etc. at a Best Buy like Alan said.
Or maybe it's time to go for the surround sound?
