F-911 was allowed to be shown even though there are some misleading facts in there. I say let them show it

It wasn't shown on public airways and is not subject to FEC regulations. Big difference in my book.
here's a link

I see it as a Freedom of Speech issue.
Is there anything new coming out of this movie. From what I read from the CNN link it:
It chronicles Kerry's 1971 testimony before Congress and links him to activist and actress Jane Fonda. It includes interviews with Vietnam prisoners of war and their wives who claim Kerry's testimony demeaned them and led their captors to hold them longer.

What about the FCC regulations requiring equal air time for each candidates?

Was this movie paid for by the RNC or another candidate?

Probably not, but I don't think anyone is arguing that it is absolutely anit-Kerry. F9-11 wasn't paid for by the DNC. Would you be okay if local stations were forced to air that weeks before the election without also airing a comparable movie that is anti-Kerry?

But that has been shown ad nausem in ads. Remember the Swift Boat ads?
And how is it news?
Which is what Sinclair is saying it is to get around it being a propaganda ad against Kerry.

Would you feel the same if it was an Anti-Bush film?

I would. Any highly political film about a candidate needs to be tempered with the opposite viewpoint. If there is an anti-Kerry film there should be a pro-Kerry or an anti-Bush film shown close to the same date. I would hope that they'd be shown at the same time just on a different day (airing the anti-Bush film at 2am doesn't count).

Yes.
Partisan ads should not be concealed as news and then forced on the viewing public. Without offering the other side the same deal.

They're only retreating b/c people complained to advertisers, which is a good way to protest. What I'd like to know is why the FCC rolled. How could Janet's boob garner so much attention and this gets nada from them?
