Woman Attacked On Silver Comet Trail
Jogger fights off attempted rape on popular trail in Cobb County

COBB COUNTY -- A woman says she was attacked yesterday while running on the Silver Comet Trail in Cobb County.
The victim told police a man grabbed her on the popular running and cycling trail near Cooper Lake Road in Mableton.
She says the suspect forced her into some nearby woods and tried to rape her at knifepoint.
She fought off the attacker and managed to escape. The attacker fled on foot towards the East-West Connector.
Police were able to put together a composite sketch based on the woman's description of her attacker.
The woman was treated for minor injuries.

i seriously thought that this had something to do with an actual comet...
glad to hear she's ok. a jogger in my area was recently groped by this guy... not 500m away from where my g/f works.

this is the Trail the Froggy now lives off of. I'm not sure though if it's the same county or section.

that section is probably about 8 or 10 miles from where im at.
as great as it is to have the path and live this close to it, THAT is precisely the reason i wont use it, alone anyways.

There was a report in the paper today that got her ear bit by an attacker on the trail yesterday. Couldn't find the article online though.

It sure sounds like it. The trail itself is very long. I don't remember where I started and stopped.

according to the GUTS website it was in Rockmart, the far end of the trail
