I loved those trips with my mother and the subsequent fashion show to Dad. Luckily, my dad never asked how much was spent.
One year after the tax returns came (my parents always split it down the middle as fun money), we went to her favorite store. We bought nearly one of every outfit in there. $1100. It was the funnest day of my life.
