This is a REAL site with answers to as many questions as you can think of.
It depends on the gas - some gasses are heavier than the air around them, like Carbon Dioxide which would settle at floor level. Others like hydrogen, neon, freon are lighter and rise

If it's less dense than air it rises, if it's more dense it sinks, if its around the same density it tends to linger.
I don't know, is that what you're lookin' for?

the gas molecules will move with increasing speeds as temperature goes up- the gas becomes less dense as the molecules move further apart from each other...
the gas will therefore expand in volume and rise
