Posted: 08/13/03 - 16:27 Post subject: Scenes from the local Austin running trail
We have a 10-mile trail in Austin that loops around a lake. I have logged thousands of miles on this trail, but for whatever reasons my mental images are not as nice as these pics. But here are two pics from Austin's Town Lake trail--for what it is worth.
Here is the water truck they park at the end of the trail. One side has four or five jugs of water, the other side jugs of powerade. Runtex is the local running store, and they provide it free weekend mornings and weekday evenings.

Nice pictures!
The first picture would make a great location for a Starbucks.
Maybe for a Friday Fubbiness, we could all post pics from one of our regular running routes. That would be hella tight, no? Maybe include a rough mileage estimate, too.

Yes, at the foot of the bridge is the 1 mile marker.

True, but then again it is usually about 65 at high noon on Jan. 10

Nice! The 1st pic reminds me of Vancouver's Stanley Park but the average summer temp down there's a comfortable 70-75 F (although it can get up to 80 F )

I would not get tired of running there for sure. When we come to visit Alan, promise you and I will do a loop.
