and several thousand other women, ran the Freihofer's Run For women here in Albany. NY.
This is quite the premeire race bringing in a field of current and past olympians such as Joan Benoit.

I could not locate her times but I wish her well.
PS Mickey is also trying to be a NY State Trooper. Her interview on that is the end of the month. Let's all wish her luck !!

How did I miss this thread on Saturday!
Good luck to Mickey!
So was anyone invited to this race or just current and past olympians? If only past olympians, how did we miss THAT?

Mickey, hope your race went well.
Good luck on the State Trooper gig! Trying to get into the public safety field is a long haul - patience and persistence will get you everywhere.

Geez! Thanks everyone!
I'm not sure how or who they invite to the Run for Women. I usually go because it's a great event. Lots of times, it's someone's first race. A couple years ago, it was my first 5K (three I think).
My times were as follows: beginning with a 12 minute first mile due to congestion finishing with a 32:37.6. I was 1690 out of 2680. 170 out of 246 for my age group. It was pouring rain. I thought overall it went pretty well.
On the NYS Trooper thing. I'm coming up for "processing" on June 24th & 25th. I have to do the physical agility (1.5 mile run in 14 minutes, 18 push-ups, and 36 sit-ups in a minute) then the regular physical, etc. It's going to be a tough weekend. If I pass it all, I'll be on the list for the next Trooper class.
